Smoky Mountain Spring Trout Tournament Highlights

I have covered a lot of fishing tournaments in the past 40 years for this newspaper, and the best organized tournament of all came earlier this month.


Over 200 fisherman participated.

The only sure winners were the kids that participated.

I heard nothing but positive response about the tournament.

Also, the TWRA, especially agent Bob Denton, is to be thanked for their participation in helping to make the tournament a big success.

Over 300 limits of trout were weighed in during the 2-day event.

Seasonal Trips include the Clinch and South Holston Tail Race, stripers, winter rainbows, crappie, sauger, photo safaris, hunting, and hiking trips.
